Hazrat Behzad Lakhnavi Qadri Chishti Nizami (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ): From Poetry to Spiritual Illumination

 شاعری سے روحانیت تک کا سفر

برصغیر کی سرزمین ہمیشہ ایسے اہلِ دل اور صاحبِ حال بزرگوں سے مالا مال رہی ہے جنہوں نے اپنے علم، فن اور روحانیت کے ذریعے انسان کو اس کے باطن سے روشناس کرایا۔ حضرت بہزاد لکھنوی قادری چشتی نظامی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ بھی انہی نابغۂ روزگار شخصیات میں شمار ہوتے ہیں، جنہوں نے شاعری، نغمہ نگاری اور تصوف—تینوں میدانوں میں اپنی ایک منفرد شناخت قائم کی۔

حضرت بہزاد لکھنوی یکم جنوری 1900 کو لکھنؤ کے ایک علمی و ادبی گھرانے میں پیدا ہوئے۔ آپ کا اصل نام سردار احمد خاں تھا، جبکہ “بہزاد” آپ کا شعری تخلص تھا۔ آپ کے والد بھی ایک قادرالکلام شاعر تھے، جس کے باعث گھر کا ماحول علم و ادب کی خوشبو سے معطر تھا۔ یہی فضا آپ کی ابتدائی تربیت کا سبب بنی اور آپ نے کم عمری ہی میں شعر کہنا شروع کر دیا۔

لکھنؤ، جو اپنی تہذیب، شائستگی اور روحانی روایت کے لیے معروف ہے، نے آپ کی شخصیت کو گہرائی عطا کی۔ ابتدا میں آپ کی شاعری میں حسن و عشق کے روایتی مضامین ملتے ہیں، مگر وقت کے ساتھ ساتھ آپ کے کلام میں ایک صوفیانہ رنگ غالب آنے لگا۔ یہ تبدیلی دراصل آپ کے باطنی سفر کی عکاس تھی۔

حضرت بہزاد لکھنوی قادری چشتی نظامی سلسلۂ تصوف سے وابستہ تھے۔ اس نسبت نے آپ کی شخصیت میں عاجزی، محبت، اخلاص اور روحانی گہرائی پیدا کی۔ آپ کے کلام میں “نور”، “وجد”، “سرور” اور “طہور” جیسے الفاظ محض شعری استعارے نہیں بلکہ آپ کے باطنی تجربات کی ترجمانی کرتے ہیں۔ آپ کی شاعری ایک ایسے سالک کی صدا معلوم ہوتی ہے جو حقیقت کی تلاش میں محوِ سفر ہے۔

آپ نے عملی زندگی کا آغاز محکمۂ ریلوے سے کیا، جہاں ایک طویل عرصے تک خدمات انجام دیں۔ بعد ازاں آپ آل انڈیا ریڈیو سے وابستہ ہوئے، جہاں آپ کے فن کو نئی جہت ملی۔ آپ نے فلمی دنیا کے لیے بھی نغمے تحریر کیے، مگر آپ کی تحریروں میں ہمیشہ شائستگی، پاکیزگی اور معنویت کا عنصر نمایاں رہا۔

قیامِ پاکستان کے بعد آپ ہجرت کر کے کراچی تشریف لے آئے اور ریڈیو پاکستان سے وابستہ ہو گئے۔ یہاں بھی آپ نے اپنی ادبی اور روحانی خدمات کا سلسلہ جاری رکھا۔ آپ کے نغمات اور کلام نے سامعین کے دلوں کو چھوا اور انہیں ایک خاص روحانی سرور سے ہمکنار کیا۔

آپ کے شعری مجموعوں میں نغمۂ نور، کیف و سرور، موجِ طہور، چراغِ طور اور وجد و حال شامل ہیں۔ یہ تمام مجموعے نہ صرف ادبی لحاظ سے اہم ہیں بلکہ روحانیت کے طالب علموں کے لیے بھی ایک قیمتی سرمایہ ہیں۔ ان میں قاری کو محبتِ الٰہی، خود شناسی اور باطنی سکون کا پیغام ملتا ہے۔

حضرت بہزاد لکھنوی کی شاعری کی سب سے نمایاں خوبی اس کی سادگی اور تاثیر ہے۔ آپ مشکل الفاظ اور پیچیدہ اسلوب سے گریز کرتے ہوئے سادہ مگر گہرے معانی بیان کرتے ہیں۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ آپ کا کلام عام قاری کے دل میں بھی اتر جاتا ہے اور خاص اہلِ نظر کے لیے بھی غور و فکر کا سامان فراہم کرتا ہے۔

10 اکتوبر 1974 کو کراچی میں آپ کا وصال ہوا۔ آپ بظاہر اس دنیا سے رخصت ہو گئے، مگر آپ کا فیض آج بھی جاری ہے۔ آپ کے اشعار، نغمات اور روحانی پیغام آج بھی اہلِ دل کے لیے روشنی کا مینار ہیں۔

حضرت بہزاد لکھنوی قادری چشتی نظامی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کی شخصیت اس حقیقت کی غماز ہے کہ جب فن اور روحانیت یکجا ہو جائیں تو انسان کے لفظ بھی عبادت بن جاتے ہیں۔ آپ کی زندگی اور کلام ہمیں یہ درس دیتے ہیں کہ اصل کامیابی دل کی پاکیزگی، محبتِ الٰہی اور انسانیت کی خدمت میں مضمر ہے۔

اللہ تعالیٰ حضرت بہزاد لکھنوی رحمۃ اللہ علیہ کے درجات بلند فرمائے اور ہمیں ان کے فیض سے مستفید ہونے کی توفیق عطا کرے۔ آمین۔

The land of the Indian subcontinent has long been blessed with luminous souls who guided humanity not only through knowledge and art but also through the inner path of spirituality. Among such distinguished personalities stands Hazrat Behzad Lakhnavi Qadri Chishti Nizami (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ), a figure who harmonized poetry, music, and mysticism into a deeply moving spiritual legacy.

Born on January 1, 1900, in the culturally rich city of Lucknow, his given name was Sardar Ahmad Khan. He later adopted “Behzad” as his poetic pen name, under which he gained widespread recognition. He was born into an intellectually refined and literary family; his father himself was a well-known poet of his time. This nurturing environment became the foundation of his early inclination toward poetry, and he began composing verses at a very young age.

Lucknow, renowned for its elegance, etiquette, and spiritual heritage, played a vital role in shaping his personality. In his early years, his poetry reflected traditional themes of love and beauty. However, as his inner journey deepened, a distinct mystical tone began to emerge in his work. This transformation reflected not just artistic evolution but a profound spiritual awakening.

Hazrat Behzad Lakhnavi was affiliated with the Qadri, Chishti, and Nizami Sufi orders. This spiritual connection enriched his personality with humility, عشقِ الٰہی (divine love), sincerity, and inner depth. The recurring themes in his poetry—such as Noor (divine light), Wajd (ecstasy), Suroor (spiritual joy), and Tahoor (purity)—were not mere literary expressions but reflections of his personal spiritual experiences. His poetry resonates like the voice of a seeker journeying toward ultimate truth.

In his professional life, he initially served in the Railway Department for a considerable period. Later, he joined All India Radio, where his creative abilities found new avenues of expression. He also worked with several film companies and wrote memorable songs. Despite entering the world of popular culture, his writings consistently retained a sense of grace, purity, and deeper meaning.

After the partition of India, he migrated to Pakistan and settled in Karachi, where he became associated with Radio Pakistan. Here, he continued his literary and spiritual contributions. His works, especially his lyrical compositions, touched the hearts of listeners and carried a subtle spiritual resonance.

His poetic collections include Naghma-e-Noor, Kaif-o-Suroor, Mauj-e-Tahoor, Chiragh-e-Toor, and Wajd-o-Haal. These works are not only significant from a literary standpoint but also serve as spiritual guides for seekers. They embody themes of divine love, self-realization, and inner peace.

One of the most distinctive features of his poetry is its simplicity combined with profound depth. He avoided complex vocabulary and intricate constructions, choosing instead a direct and heartfelt style that could reach both the common reader and the discerning intellectual. This simplicity, in reality, became the strength of his expression.

Hazrat Behzad Lakhnavi passed away on October 10, 1974, in Karachi. Though he departed from this world, his spiritual and literary legacy continues to live on. His poetry, songs, and teachings remain a source of inspiration and illumination for countless admirers.

His life beautifully demonstrates that when art and spirituality merge, words transcend into acts of devotion. Hazrat Behzad Lakhnavi’s legacy reminds us that true success lies in purity of heart, عشقِ الٰہی, and service to humanity.
